Eva was born in Germany and has lived in England since 1998. She made the switch from translator to full-time massage therapist in 2006 and has never looked back!
Having experienced for herself the harmful effects of stress, she is convinced of the power of bodywork and touch therapy, and more than anything else of the importance of making room for yourself in a world full of demands, contradictions and expectations. She has also gone through the painful process of realising that much pain in life is easier to deal with if tackled early, and that you often don't have to live with, or can at least alleviate it, with the help of the right people.
In addition to classic Swedish massage techniques, Eva may incorporate breath work, rocking and pulsing, passive stretches, joint mobilisation, acupressure, myofascial release and trigger point work, as well as lymph drainage. The techniques used not only increase flexibility and mobility, but also work on the mind, activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the ‘rest and digest’ system) and encouraging the mind to let go. In this way the massage works on tensions not only from the outside, but also from within. Furthermore, remedial massage techniques can tackle specific symptoms and conditions, and many of her clients find the self-care advice she provides very empowering.
By continuously seeking exchange with other healthcare professionals, extending her knowledge through workshops and professional literature, and not least her own practice of yoga, Eva stays inspired and grounded. As a member of various professional bodies, Eva is fully insured and bound to high standards and the respectice Code of Ethics (Massage Training Institute (MTI), Northern Massage Association (NMA), Manual Lymph Drainage association (MLDuk), Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC).
